Galatians 1:13-24

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

What is one thing from the passage or sermon that you’ve been mulling over since Sunday? (Alternative—what was your favorite part of our family day/5th Sunday out at Camp Grace?)

Paul’s Testimony

Why do you think Paul shares his testimony in the way he does here? (his conversion obviously but also consider his story of what he did after—why include that?)

Compare Paul’s autobiography here to his telling of the same story in 1 Timothy 1:12-17. What about the two testimony accounts most stands out to you? (from Merida)

What can we learn from Paul’s decision to immediately go into Arabia after conversion? Why go there instead of Jerusalem or Rome?

Paul thought he was serving God when he was persecuting the church. How can we be sure we are not doing something similar—rooting our own sinful thoughts and actions in what we claim is God’s will and perspective? What are some ways that such a perspective can sneak into our everyday?

When someone claims today, like Paul did here, to have received a direct message from God, how should we respond to them? (from Merida)

How would making verse 24 the center goal of your life shift your priorities and shape your view of all you engage in? (work, hobbies, family, church, getting groceries, etc…)
