Your child is growing…

In this stage, your child continues to grow and mature. Not only are we committed to helping you navigate all the changes that take place in your child’s life during this season, our desire is for you, as parents, to become more like Jesus as you join God in the work He’s doing in the life of your child.

MILESTONE PATH

Milestone #2: Faith Commitment

At Mars Hill Church, we are honored to partner with parents in guiding their children toward a relationship with God. We recognize that every child is unique and that their spiritual journey will look different. Some may commit to Jesus during childhood, while for others, that moment may come later. No matter when it happens, we joyfully celebrate each step of faith as a church family.

When parents believe their child has made the commitment to follow Jesus, we encourage them to explore our baptism resources or participate in a Mars Kids Baptism Class. As a church family, we set aside a special time during Sunday services for baptisms so we can honor and celebrate each believer as they publicly share their decision to follow Jesus.

What Parents Often Need in Stage Three

As children move through early elementary years, they enter a new stage of growing independence, busier schedules, and more profound questions. Here are a few things parents often need in this season:

Places for Kids to Connect and Play

Parents look for safe, welcoming environments—like our Park Tour—where their kids can build friendships and social skills.

Guidance for Spiritual Conversations

As kids become more curious about God and faith, parents desire to start simple but meaningful discussions at home.

Supportive Community with Shared Routines

Connection for parents often happens naturally during this season of life due to schedules and activities overlapping with those of other families.

Help with Big Decisions

Parents value guidance as they begin making choices about sports, extracurriculars, and how to balance structured time with free time.

Managing Full Schedules and Changing Seasons

With busier calendars and seasonal shifts like summer breaks, parents are learning how to adjust family rhythms.

Navigating Discipline and Boundaries

Because children at this stage test limits in new ways, parents need consistent tools, encouragement, and grace for the journey.
