Your child is growing…

In this stage, your child continues to grow and mature. Not only are we committed to helping you navigate all the changes that take place in your child’s life during this season, but our desire is for you, as parents, to become more like Jesus as you join God in the work He’s doing in the life of your child.

MILESTONE PATH

Milestone #3: Preparing for Adolescence

The preteen years are full of change and opportunity. At Mars Hill, we believe this is the perfect time to invest deeply in a child’s spiritual growth, emotional development, and personal identity. We come alongside families to build gospel-centered communities where kids can grow in faith and friendship. With resources and support for parents, we help lay the groundwork for strong character and lasting commitment to Christ.

Milestone #4: Purity Commitment

In the preteen years, kids need a clear, biblical foundation for sexuality and relationships. Mars Hill partners with parents to help their kids build a Christ-centered view of purity because we believe the most powerful lessons come from home. Our desire is to empower families to speak truth and set the stage for wise, God-honoring decisions in the years ahead.

What Parents Often Need in Stage Four

As children move into later elementary years, their world begins to widen—social influences grow, responsibilities increase, and deeper conversations become more important. Here are a few things parents often need in this season:

Time for Meaningful Discipleship
As kids become more impacted by peer opinions and social pressures, parents need space for meaningful conversations with their kids as they continue to guide them spiritually and emotionally.

Support for Technology Decisions
Navigating choices around cell phones, social media, and screen time becomes more relevant, and parents seek clear guidance for safe, God-honoring ways to use technology.

Balance with School and Activities
Schedules become busier with more homework and after-school activities, and parents value advice in managing family priorities and rhythms.

Places for Kids to Connect

Relationships with friends and mentors start becoming more crucial, and kids need safe places to meet and spend time with others who share similar desires and values.
