Galatians 6:6-10
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. {REMINDER} Have you implemented any of the four challenges from Jack from this week?
- “Take one concrete step to strengthen the ministry of the word.”
- “Identify one clear habit of the flesh that needs to be uprooted.”
- “Name one area where you feel spiritually tired this week [where you need
encouragement to not grow weary].”
- “Do one tangible act of good for a believer and one for someone outside the faith.”
2. {HERMENEUTICS} How do you interpret verse 6 in light of the prior verses and
this passage as a whole? What is Paul talking about?
3. {TWO EXTREMES: Christian Living} In Galatians 3:1, Paul says the Galatians have
been “bewitched” by the Judaizers (legalists). How is verse 7 different and
similar in its warning for them to not be “deceived?”
4. {JUDGMENT and GRACE} When you read verses 8-9, how does it make you
feel? How do these verses influence your view of the Gospel and our future
hope?
5. {ETHICS} How can we “grow weary of doing good?” What is the solution?
- What is the role of “good deeds” done to toward those outside the body
of Christ in the life of believers? Is there a difference in value or purpose
for our good deeds to one another in the “household of faith?”
6. {TWISTED SCRIPTURE} In what ways have you seen or can you imagine any
portion of this passage being pulled out of context to mean something Paul did
not intend? How would you correct this if you were led to do so by the Spirit?
