DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. [REFLECTION] What questions or thoughts do you have from this Sunday’s passage?

2. [BASICS]

3. [REVELATION | AUTHORITY] Christ is THE Word of God; the Scripture is the word

of God; we are called to steward what has been revealed to us by and in both.

How does this affect your view of:

- Your own responsibility in the world

- The responsibility of the Church

- Your words and the words of leaders

- Biblical authority

4. [APPROVAL] How and when are you tempted to keep the room happy instead

of serving Jesus (or as you serve Jesus)?

- E.g. work, church, small group, marriage, dating, volunteering, family, etc…

5. [STEWARDSHIP] “ A faithful steward hands over what belongs to the Master—on

time, in full—to the people to whom the Master sent him/her.”—Kyle. Why/how

could we be tempted to be an unfaithful steward who keeps for ourselves,

delays our delivery, or lessens the message?

6. [TRUE FREEDOM] How is it freeing to view yourself as a steward/slave for

Christ? How does this freedom differentiate itself from what our world says

about freedom?

7. [INTROSPECTION] Which temptation is stronger for you—to judge/appraise yourself OR to trust the world’s

appraisal? How can we combat this temptation together as the community of Christ?
