Galatians 6:11-18

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

As you reflect on Galatians 6:11–18, what did you find most encouraging or convicting? Why?

What seems to be most pressing on Paul’s mind and heart as he closes the letter of Galatians?

Why is it so important to pay careful attention to the influence of false teaching (cf. Acts 20:29; Col 2:8; Rom 16:17; 2 John 10)?

According to Galatians 1:7 and 3:1–3, what had false teaching already done to the Galatians? What does this teach us about preaching and guarding the gospel in our church and relationships?

In Galatians 6:14, Paul declares, “But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” What does it mean to boast in the cross? How is this radically different from boasting in moral performance, religious activity, or spiritual résumé?

Paul says that through the cross, “the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal 6:14). What does that practically mean for everyday life—your ambitions, identity, and temptations?

In Galatians 6:15, Paul says neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, “but a new creation.” How does this statement summarize the heart of the entire letter? Where are we tempted to add something to Christ’s finished work as the basis of our confidence before God?

Looking back over the whole study of Galatians, what truths about justification, grace, freedom, and the Spirit have most encouraged you and reshaped your understanding of the Christian life?

As a result of studying Galatians, where have you seen God changing your thinking, attitudes, or habits?

What is one specific way you sense He is calling you to live more boldly, freely, and joyfully in line with the gospel this week?
