What does it mean to “guard our steps” when approaching God? Why is it so important for us to do?
What does the Professor mean by his warning not to be rash or hasty with our words to God? Have you ever been quick to tell God what he ought to do, demand answers, or tell him what you will do? What are the dangers that exist in approaching God that way?
What examples come to mind of what it sounds like to manipulate or bargain with God? What’s the problem with approaching God this way?
What are some practical ways we can ensure our hearts are truly engaged when we gather to worship or study God’s word, rather than just go through the motions?
