Victory Health Partner's Mission:
As a witness for Jesus Christ, Victory Health Partners exists to minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the medically under-served by providing affordable, quality healthcare services. We recognize that God is the True Healer and the source of all. We seek to know Jesus Christ, His Son, and to make Him known.
About victory Health partners:
Victory Health Partners is a non-profit medical clinic committed to removing healthcare barriers for low income, uninsured adults by providing a full spectrum of Christ-centered healthcare that saves and transforms lives.
Victory was founded by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Lightfoot as a result of their participation in several mission trips and identifying a need for accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for uninsured adults within their own community of Mobile. Through their persistence and the hard work of many volunteers, Victory opened in January 2003 to provide quality healthcare to low to moderate income, uninsured adults.
Victory served 12 patients on their first day. In 2016, Victory cared for over 19,000 patients of file and provided treatment on 20,000 encounters from patients who walked through our clinic doors from 25 counties in Alabama, 11 in Mississippi and 8 in Florida. The need continues to rise with 75 to 80 new patients being added monthly. Victory provides clinics such as adult primary care, counseling, optometry, dental, pulmonary, neurology, women’s wellness, nutrition, audiology, wound care, sleep apnea, minor surgery, cooking classes, smoking cessation and diabetes education. Victory also provides X-rays, EKGs and laboratory work when needed.
The clinic has an extensive network of over 150 local physicians, dentists, healthcare providers and hospitals providing specialized care at a reduced cost in their own offices. Approximately 70 volunteers work in the clinic each week. In 2016, Victory’s volunteers provided over 60,000 volunteer hours. One success Victory has experienced in helping the uninsured has been through the Medication Dispensary program. These medications are available through donated samples and Victory’s Patient Assistance Program. In 2016, over $33 million in prescription medications were dispensed for no cost to patients through this program. This is vital to the success of the care provided because prior to coming to Victory, one out of four patients would not take their needed medications due to cost.
At Victory there are both medical and non-medical volunteer opportunities. The non-medical opportunities include assisting in the front office by answering phones, checking in patients, filing charts and assisting with the patient database. New patient services is also an area of the clinic for non-medical volunteers to assist with clerical work and calling patients. For volunteers with medical experience, there is a need to assist Victory’s medical assists by triaging patients, in the lab and other various tasks.
